The 39th FIM Motocamp- Haligovce, Slovakia- 28th – 30th July 2021
Extension of Entry Closing Date to 31st May
In view of the effects of the Covid pandemic across Europe and in particular the problems it is causing to riders wishing to traverse one or more countries in order to reach their event in Slovakia, the organisers of the 2021 Motocamp have decided to extend their closing date for entries to 31st May in the hope that the vaccination programs currently being carried out across Europe lead to an easing of travel restrictions. Entries for a small British team have already been submitted to the event organisers, if any further riders wish to enter what promises to be a very good event, I would suggest that they contact the organisers at firstname.lastname@example.org with a view to submitting their entry direct to the organisers. Entry forms and Supplementary Regulations for the event, giving details of the € entry fees and the bank account that entry fees should be transferred to can be found on the www.fimteamgb.co.uk website. The organisers have stated that they will refund entry fees they receive if they have to cancel the event; if an entrant can’t travel because they have contracted Covid and also if entrants are unable to travel due to border closures on their route to the event.

FIM/Team GB Touring Steward
The 2021 FIM Motocamp will be held at Haligovce in the Tatra Mountains of Northern Slovakia, close to the Polish border. The venue is an established camp site with camping on level grass. The official dates for the rally are from 28th to 30th July, however the site will be open from midday on Monday 26th July and optional excursions for the early arrivals will take place 27th, 28th & 29th with ride outs to local historic sights on all 3 days. In addition, at the end of the Parade of Nations on Friday 30th July there will be an option to visit a tourist project that includes traditional crafts, chocolate production and a distillery producing Slovak whisky. Details of the optional excursions are given on a separate document. The official programme takes place from Wednesday 28th to Friday 30thJuly & the event closes after breakfast on Saturday 31st July.
The forms may look intimidating to start with, but completion is quite straightforward. To start with, unless you are taking more than one passenger don’t bother to print page 2, it’s only for those taking 2 or more passengers. Two copies of the forms need to be completed, one you send in to the address below together with your payment, cheque to be made out to the Auto-Cycle Union Ltd, the second set of forms you retain and take with you to the rally. At the top of the forms, in the 1st box I’ve inserted “ACU”, leave the 2nd box Serial Number, blank. The rest of the form, completing your personal details & those of your passenger if you have one should be straight forward, your email & postal address are important in case we need to contact you regarding your entry, whilst a person to contact at home could be important if you have an accident or suffer illness whilst at the rally. Your bike details are also important as they will be used on your ID tag at the rally to ensure it only leaves the site with the right rider. In the accommodation section of the form please indicate the dates on which you will arrive & leave the rally (important for arranging catering & other facilities) and tick camping (unless you have made alternative arrangements).
On the Accommodation Form, again enter your name & then enter your intended arrival and departure dates. Your entry fee covers camping for the 3 official days of the rally, 28th – 30th July, if you are arriving early you (& your passenger) will have to pay for the additional nights camping. Please also indicate if you (& your passenger) wish to take part in either of the optional excursions on offer.
Finally, sign & date the forms & if you are a member of or are a member of a club affiliated to the ACU or BMF tick Yes, otherwise tick No. If you wish to pay by BACS please contact me first (firstname.lastname@example.org or 01837 840398 between 10.00 & 20.00) to get a payment reference. As I am currently Covid shielding & can’t go to the bank to pay in cheques, BACS payment is preferable, however if necessary prepare a cheque made out to “The Auto-Cycle Union Ltd” (it may help to enclose a slip to show how your payment is made up) & retain one set of forms, you’ll need them when you arrive at the rally, and send the other set with your cheque to the address below.
